Description courtesy of Al Grobmeier
These photos show the entrance to the US Diplomatic Telecommunications Service Regional Relay Facility (RRF) at Opana, Oahu, Hawaii. Opana, on the north coast of Oahu, was also the site of the AAF radar which picked up the approaching Japanese aircraft on Dec. 7, 1941, and much later was the Hawaii transmitter site of the Navy's Communication Moon Relay (CMR) system.
A report by the National Park Service, "Early Warnings: The Mystery of Radar in Hawaii", discusses the Opana radar facility.
