Western Union microwave relay station
Ligonier, IN

Ligonier was a repeater station on Western Union's transcontinental microwave "radio beam" network. It linked Pierceton to the west and Orland to the east.

Ligonier is now being used by Centennial Wireless as a cell site; however (as of February 2010) it was slated for de-commissioning due to structural failure of the "H" Tower. SBA is the current owner and has decided to take the tower down since they are unable to locate construction and maintenance data from WU. Since they don't have this info for a baseline they are unable to make a determination on the amount and degree of settling of the concrete caissons.

The location is:
N 41° 26.6949'
W 85° 31.3677'
